What is tailless monkey?

Tailless monkeys, or Barbary macaques, are a species of old world monkey native to North Africa and Gibraltar. They are known for their distinctive lack of tail, which sets them apart from most primates. Instead, they rely on their long and strong arms to move through trees and forage for food. They typically live in social groups of up to 80 individuals, and are known for their close relationships with each other and their complex social hierarchies. Barbary macaques are considered endangered due to habitat loss and overhunting for the pet trade, and conservation efforts are underway to protect their populations.
